Designing the mobile experience for Loom Playlists and Autolinks

TIMELINE

June - September 2026

ROLE

Product Designer

TEAM

1 Product Designer, 2 Engineers, 2 PMs

TOOLS

Figma, Replit

OVERVIEW

During my 12-week internship, I owned the complete design lifecycle across both flagship features—from competitive benchmarking across 5 platforms and interactive code prototyping in Replit for rapid iterations, to moderated user testing and production engineering handoffs. The projects I worked on:

PROJECTS

I led end-to-end mobile design across two core features: establishing Loom Playlists from 0 → 1 and shipping Autolinks to production on iOS and Android.

Mobile Video Playlists

I led the 0 → 1 mobile design for Loom Playlists. This feature lets creators curate, organize, and sequence multiple Loom videos into a single, cohesive collection shared through one link.

Smart Autolinks on Mobile

I designed and shipped the mobile experience for Autolinks for iOS and Android alongside mobile engineering leads. This feature automatically detects and attaches the relevant URL links and artifacts shown during a recording directly below the video player.

THE OUTCOME

Key Takeaways

Mobile isn’t a smaller web — You can’t just shrink things down. The constraints and context are fundamentally different, requiring interactions, navigation, and information hierarchy to be intentionally redesigned for a mobile experience.

Prototype to align, not just to validate — rapid AI prototyping can make collaboration much faster. Using Replit helped me align with engineers early, then bring the strongest direction into Figma.
